Howard Wollitz
Howard Wollitz is Of Counsel to the Firm, and is an insurance coverage and business litigator with particular expertise in insurance coverage and bad faith, reinsurance, and professional liability. He has evaluated and opined on insurance coverage in matters involving general liability, professional liability, non-profit organizations, marine, inland marine, property, and environmental.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mr. Wollitz received his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law. While attending UCLA, he was a member of the Board of Editors of the UCLA Law Review.
Mr. Wollitz is a member of the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Seventh and Ninth Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California, and the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Wollitz has served as an expert witness on professional liability, professional ethics, attorneys fee disputes, and insurance bad faith matters. He has represented carriers in both arbitrations and mediations.
He has been a featured speaker at continuing education conferences on a national and state level, and has lectured on professional liability, insurance coverage, risk transfer devices, and defense and avoidance of bad faith. He is a sought after speaker at client seminars on a multitude of topics, including insurance coverage, statutes, regulations, and duties of good faith and fair dealing.
Mr. Wollitz has been recognized as a California Super Lawyer.

Tim Harris
Tim Harris, an equity partner in the Firm, has successfully defended lawyers, directors, officers, appraisers, architects and other professionals since 1982. He also handles employment and business litigation, and directs the Employment Litigation Department. The Firm represents management in all aspects of employment litigation. He has defended directors, officers and third parties against claims brought by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and RTC.
He has been rated a Superlawyer and obtained one of the “Top 50” jury verdicts in California in 2019.
Mr. Harris has appeared in state and federal courts, before the American Arbitration Association and the International Chamber of Commerce.
Born in Yakima, Washington, Mr. Harris received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, from the University of Washington in 1975, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law in 1978, where he was Articles Editor and a member of the Board of Editors of the UCLA Law Review. Mr. Harris is a member of the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for all California Districts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.
Mr. Harris is the author of several articles including “Selection and Presentation of Evidence At Trial,” (2005); “The Business Judgment Rule For Officers, Directors and General Partners,” (2003); “The Requirement of Expert Testimony In Appraisal Litigation,” The Appraisal Journal (1992); and “Business Decisions” (2010).

Robert D. Hoffman, a partner in the Firm, practices in complex insurance coverage litigation, professional liability defense and coverage, general liability coverage and bad faith defense areas.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr. Hoffman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Colby College in 1982, and his Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School in 1985. Mickey M. Mardirossian received his J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School in 1993. He was admitted to the bar of Pennsylvania in 1993 and previously practiced law with the large and prestigious Philadelphia-based law firms of Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis and Cozens & O’Connor. Mickey grew up in Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley. He attended the University of California in Berkeley, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology with “High Distinction” honors in 1990.
Mickey has significant experience in insurance coverage and litigation matters including business litigation, insurance, professional liability, commercial general liability and personal injury claims.
